Surrounded by her family, Francine passed away peacefully, at the age of 87, on August 2, 2017. Francine was born to Adèle (Barras) and Benjamin Ledet on February 2, 1930. She will be missed by her children: Jeannine (Maurice Blanchette), Maurice (Jaqueline), Paul, Marie (Albert Patenaude), Michel (Tammy) and Monique (Charles Henaire); her grandchildren: Jean-Marc (Dawn-Maire) Blanchette, Michelle (Christian Lavergne), Stéphane (Danielle) Gauthier, Chantal (Shaun Daly), Miguel (Melissa Makara), Eric (Lindsey) Gauthier, Ryan Gauthier and his mother Sandra Gauthier-Huyghebaert and Natalie Patenaude; and her 14 great-grandchildren. Francine was predeceased by her husband, Florent, her daughters, Jeannette and Annette, and granddaughters Nicole and Christie.

Prayers will be held on Wednesday, August 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel (357 Des Meurons Street). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Church (15 Columbia Drive) with Rev. Fr. Darrin J. G. Gurr presiding. Interment will take place at the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Francine’s memory to the Grain of Wheat Legacy Fund, to support charitable efforts that transform the world.
