Remedios Fernando, 84, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, formerly of Manila, Philippines, passed away September 6, 2014 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Born March 2, 1930 in Manila, Philippines, she was predeceased by her parents, Andres and Primitiva; sister Coronacion, and husband Alfonso. Remedios was a very loving mother, a dedicated wife, an unselfish sister, and a very caring and doting grandmother. She was a fine seamstress, and had a house rental business in Manila. Remedios is survived by her seven daughters, Lilian (Francis – deceased), Lilibeth (Allan), Lorna (Rodolfo), Maria Lowina, Liberty (Dennis), Maria Luz (Carlo), and Mary Joy (fiancé Aldrich); nine grandchildren, Allan Dominic, Markel, Mary Kitly, Benedict, Maria Carla Jemimah, Broderick, Dana Louise, Jose Andrew Carlos, and Blaise; and two sisters Leonor and Lourdes of Manila. The family wishes to convey their profound gratitude to Dr. Edward Allan Pascoe, Dr. M. Moon, Dr. Z. Pozeg, Dr. J. Strumpher, Dr. K. Kumar, and the rest of the Cardiac Surgery team of St. Boniface Hospital, including Britney, Jency and Cora of St. Boniface ICCS, for the utmost care, unwavering and topnotch medical services given to Remedios during the critical moment of her life.
