Interim Entombment
June 19, 1950 – November 14, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Teresita Quintana Cruz on November 14, 2023. Teresita, Tessie, Tikay, Lola Bai as she is fondly called by many, was surrounded by her family and loved ones and passed peacefully.
Teresita, a loving and dedicated mother to a family of four, was brought into this world on June 19, 1950, to Magdelino Quintana and Sinforosa Cordero. Tessie was described as a bundle of joy and laughter. She was passionate about dancing from a very young age and participated in countless dancing competitions in Samar where she grew up before moving back to Luzon. In 1970’s Tessie met Ben in Angeles City and fell in love. They were married for 40 years and had 4 kids. Teresita was predeceased by her parents Dino and Posang, brothers Isagani and Israel and husband Buenaventura. She is survived by her children Hendrix (Myra), Shiela-(Jojo,) Jannice-(Omeng )and Jaybie-(Pau )and her grandchildren Francheska and Fionna.
Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Tessie’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, hilarious and witty and we will all miss her dearly. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Growing up, Mama/Maw was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.
We would like to thank our family and friends in Canada and the Philippines for being with us during this difficult time. We also want to thank the Cancer Care Dept of St Boniface/HSC for taking care of mom while battling C. Lastly, we thank the Palliative Care team for giving our mom the most comfort care they can give until mom passed peacefully.
Eomma, Maw, Mama, Nanay, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in God’s loving arms.
