It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and sister Mary Lou Paño Fajardo on September 7, 2023, at the age of 68.
Malou was predeceased by her husband, Baltazar Fajardo; Parents, Justiniano Pano, Sr. and Ester Pinalas Pano; Sister, Nena Camota; and Brother, Justiniano Pano, Jr.
She will be remembered by her only daughter, Maureen Cormier (Marc) and will be greatly missed by her siblings residing in the Philippines; Jonieto Pano (Virgie), Rogelio Pano (Gloria), Juliet Dolora Teguihanon (Ronilo), Marilyn Dolojan, Alice Pano, Viola Gayagoy, Mario Pano (Emie) and Susan Magbanua (Fred). Additionally, she will be greatly missed by her extended family in Lethbridge, Alberta; Sister, Regie Macabinquel (Kevin) and Nieces, Romilyn Roca (Emerson) and Remedios Dolojan.
Malou was born in Quezon City, Philippines on February 20, 1955. After Malou graduated from Fort Bonifacio Highschool, she went on to study a Clerk Typist course at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She started her first job at Aberdeen Court as a Receptionist where she met her husband, Baltazar. They married in June 1980 and welcomed their only child, Maureen in November 1982. In 2006, Malou moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked with the Netty’s family as a caregiver for 15 years. She was so loved that they treated her as part of their family. Malou finally retired and immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in August 2022 to live close to her daughter and extended family.
Malou has lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple things like cooking, going out for coffee, caring for children, travelling, and hosting karaoke gatherings with friends and family. She has always been seen as the life of the party. Her family and friends will miss her infectious laughter and cheerful personality. She was admired for her unwavering loyal friendship, her confidence, and her caring and devoted commitment towards the needs of her family.
Lamay Service was held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel & Reception Centre, 1839 Inkster Boulevard on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Funeral Mass was held at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Roman Catholic Church, 15 Columbia Drive on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Entombment immediately followed in Living Waters Columbarium.
