It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father, Lucien Plamondon, at Foyer Valade on Tuesday, July 19 at the age of 84. Dad was the youngest of seven boys born to Amédée and Angelina Plamondon on August 11, 1926, in St. Front, SK. He married the love of his life, Thérèse Detillieux, on August 17, 1949 in Prince Albert, SK. They raised six children: Judy King, Carmen (Pat) Hannah, Estelle Plamondon, Gilles (Corinne) Plamondon, Jackie Marshall, Don (Patricia) Plamondon. Mom and Dad farmed in St. Front until 1966, when they moved the family to Prince Albert, where Dad then worked as a welder while continuing to run the farm until 1973. Dad was always known as a hard worker and could fix anything. His hobby upon retirement in 1984 was woodworking. As well, Dad enjoyed fishing, golfing and trips to visit all of us. He cherished the times we would spend at the cabin telling stories around the fire. Dad will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tammie and Erik Konsmo (Emma and Andrew) Amy and Adam Ford (Tatum and Weston) Chris and Tobi Hannah (Otis and Finn), Leslie and TJ Fogarty (Ewan and Lauren) Ryan Hannah, Lindsay Plamondon, Trevor Melnyk, Lisa Plamondon, Joshua and Cara Plamondon, Kalen Plamondon, Adrienne Marshall (Tatianna), Andrea and Erik Macey, Erika Marshall, Alex Marshall (Wade), Aaron Marshall and Quinton Baylak, as well as two brothers, Leo Plamondon and Orance Plamondon. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Dad was predeceased by his wife of nearly 61 years, Thérèse in 2010, his parents Amédée and Angelina, brothers, Bruno, Adrien, Laurent, and Aurel, as well as grandson, Gregory Marshall. We extend a special thank you to the staff at Foyer Valade for their compassion and care of our father. A prayer vigil will be held on Monday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Thomson in the Park, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Darrin J. G. Gurr presiding.
