September 11, 1938 – December 6, 2021

Peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021, Doodnauth Ramsammy passed away at home with family by his side at the age of 83.

Doodnauth was predeceased by his parents Ramsamy Achan and Bandesi Ramsamy, and brother Koomral Ramsamy

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cecile Ramsammy (nee Angeles); son David Ramsammy (Kamala), grandchildren Maya and Noah; daughter Boomelia Penwarden (Clive), grandchildren Melinda and Robin; daughter Shantee Siemens (Kris) and granddaughter Kate; brother Chetram Ramasami (Radika); sisters, Indra Baburam (Victor) and Sheila Sanasie (Donald); sister-in-law Betie Ramsamy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Doodnauth was born in Guyana on September 11, 1938 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1977.  He was a very hard worker who easily made friends with everyone he met and who loved to tell stories and jokes at family gatherings.
Viewing (Lamay) was held December 16, 2021.  Prayers were said at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on December 18, 2021, at St. Gianna Roman Catholic Church, 15 Columbia Drive followed by entombment at Living Waters Columbarium.
