Surrounded by the love of his family, Artemio Manalang Santos Sr. passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, at the age of 80. He is predeceased by his wife Rosalinda Santos, with whom he shared 39 years of blissful marriage. He will be deeply missed by his loving daughters Sheila (Ariel) and Elizabeth (Gerald); sons Elizalde (Khristine), Artemio Jr. (Melanie), and Jerson; and grandchildren Julius, Kate, Ralph, Karl, Kriel, Ken, Francis, Atheena, Anne, and Thirdy.
Known fondly as Daddy, Lolo, or Mamang Temyong, and AMS to his colleagues. Artemio Sr. was truly the epitome of a father, grandfather, and uncle. He always prioritized the needs of his children, grandchildren, and relatives before his own. He was ever ready to help his brothers, sister, nephews, and nieces when needed. As a civil engineer by profession, Artemio Sr. lived a life filled with love and care, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication to family. He is best remembered for inculcating the value and importance of education, not only to his children but also to his nephews and nieces.
Viewing (Lamay) was held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., on October 19 and October 20. Vigil Prayers were held on Saturday evening with Fr. Eric Zadji presiding. Mass of the Resurrection was held on October 22 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 836 Arlington Ave., Winnipeg, with Fr. Eric Zadji as the celebrant. Cremation took place following the Funeral Mass.
