Ministries of Christian Mission
The Christian is one who understands and appreciates the opportunity to transform and change a broken and hurting world. As the presence of Christ in the world today, it is the Christian’s call to bring Christ to the areas that are in most need of his care and compassion. As Jesus himself instructs: “I was hungry and you fed me, naked and you clothed me, in prison and you came to visit me, and whatever you have done to the least of my brothers or sisters you have done to me”. (Mat 25:31-46) In this way not only is the world made a better place, but the Christians themselves become the very best that they can be, allowing Christ to be fully revealed in them.
The ministry of Christian Mission is carried out through the works of the Social Justice ministry and the Outreach ministry. Through their ongoing collaboration, these two ministry areas ensure an integrated approach to social justice issues and the works of charity initiated through our parish. Those who participate in the Ministry of Christian Mission and its varied apostolates will come to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the tremendous ability and potential our participation in the work of Christ has to change the world as well as change we who minister in his name.
